Kota is the third largest city in the state of Rajasthan and is one of the popular tourist destinations. Situated on the banks of the Chambal River, the city of Kota is famous for its distinctive style of paintings, palaces, museums, and places of worship. The city is known for gold jewellery, Doria sarees, silk sarees and the famous Kota stone.

The history of Kota dates back to the 12th century when Rao Deva conquered the territory and founded Hadoti. The independent Rajput state of Kota was carved out of Bundi in 1631. The kingdom of Kota had a turbulent history as it was raided by various Mughal rulers, Maharajas of Jaipur and even the Maratha warlords. The city of Kota is well known all over the world for its architectural splendour comprising beautiful palaces, temples and museums which exhibit the grandeur of the foregone era.
Kishore Sagar and Jagmandir Palace
Kishore Sagar is an artificial picturesque lake dating back to 1346 constructed by the Bundi Prince Dehra Deh. It located by the side of attractive Brij Vilas palace museum.

A palace named as Jagmadir is located at the heart of the museum. The enchanting palace is a red sand stone monument of the grandeur days of Kota. The reflections of the exquisite palace walls and domes in the azure water of the Kishore Sagar Lake are breathtaking. A treat for photo fanatics and nature lovers.
Seven Wonders Park
Never been able to visit the seven wonders across the globe? Not to worry! You can now witness all of them in a single go. Seven Wonders Park in Kota comprises of miniatures of all the Seven Wonders of the World. These include Taj Mahal, Great Pyramid, Eiffel Tower, Leaning Tower, Christ the Redeemer of Brazil, Colosseum, and Statue of Liberty. The project which was undertaken to build this garden was worth 20 crores by Urban Development Department. It took more than 150 workers to complete the project. It has become a famous tourist spot and attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world. These miniatures have been built on the bank of the Kishore Sagar Lake thereby enhancing its beauty. People flock to the park to enjoy a lovely picnic with friends and family. Cameras are allowed in the park so that happy moments can be captured. Also, facilities such as food stalls with delicious food at a nominal rate, lockers, and washrooms are offered to the general public. It is best to visit the park in the evening.
Kota Barrage
One of the most popular place among the locals, Kota Barrage is frequented for its peaceful evenings along the riverside. Kota Barrage is a dam built on Chambal River and is located quite close to the main city. Swimming or Getting in water is strongly discouraged as there have been losses of lives in the past and proper care must be maintained.
Chambal Gardens
Chambal Garden, a beautiful garden in the backdrop of Chambal river, is a much sought picnic spot in Kota. The garden located at Amar Niwas on the landscape of Chambal river encloses a well maintained pond, a habitat for crocodiles. A suspension bridge facilitating the crossing of the bridge is very attractive. It is a park for children and adults. The plenty of playing field in the park make this place a weekend destination for families. Boat riding in the pond offers exciting moments for the visitors.
Khade Ganesh Ji Temple
Believed to be more than 600 years old idol, Khade Ganesh is one of the most important religious place in Kota. Situated close to river Chambal, there is a lake nearby where several Peacocks could be spotted. The unique part about this temple is that Ganesh's idol is in standing pose, which is supposed to be the only standing idol of Ganesh in India.
City Palace
A confabulation of Mughal and Rajasthani architecture and art, the City Palace is a monument of the glorious royal past of the Kota city. City palace is a fantastic landmark in Kota attracting thousands of tourists every year. The palace is adorned with imposing wall paintings, mirror walls, mirror ceilings, hanging illuminated lights and floral decorations. Breathtaking marble floorings and walls and stylish fashioned entrance, all these make City Palace a memorable location. The attractive garden around the palace adds the beauty of the Palace. City Palace encloses a grand museum enclosing huge collection of medieval weaponries, costumes and apparels of erstwhile kings and queens, artifacts and handicrafts showing the cultural heritage of the bygone splendid days.
Garardia Mahadev
A popular Shiva Temple, Garadiya Mahadev is located slightly away from main town and attracts lots of locals as a tourist attraction. More than religious, this spot is treated as a picnic spot as it is located on the banks of River Chambal and has amazing views of Chambal.
Kaithoon is renowned for the specialized designer hand woven saris named as Kota Doria saris. These saris are hand woven with real gold threads. The textile weaving rules this place. The majestic dress materials from Kaithoon are of high quality cotton fabrics. These are made exquisite and richer by designer styles and embroidery with real gold and silver threads. Tourists can purchase excellent export quality Saris and other dress materials from this place. A live view of the hand weaving with fast and attractive hand movements will be an amazing experience in Kaithoon.
BY ROAD - Kota is situated on National Highway NH-12 (Jaipur-Jabalpur). The NH-76 (Pindwara-Udaipur Baran-Shivpuri) also passes through Kota.

BY RAIL - As Kota is situated on the main Delhi-Mumbai railway line, it is linked with all the major cities of India. The Kota railway station is located at the extreme northern end of the town which is about 10 km away from the Resonance Corporate Office.

BY AIR - Kota has its own domestic airport but it is presently not in operation . The nearest operational airport is Jaipur (240 km away).
The food can be arranged from different eating outlets, paying guest accommodation providers, private cooks etc. The Tiffin system (door to door delivery) by several messes is also prevalent. These messes provide hygienic and nutritious food which is relished by different taste buds coming from all across the country.
